AUSTREX currently has an excellent opportunity for an Animal Welfare Officer (AWO) based in BSD City – Tangerang Selatan.

University qualification in Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Science or other relevant discipline
This role would suit a recent university graduate looking for an opportunity to develop a career in the livestock export industry
Strong written and spoken English language skills
Ability to work unsupervised to stringent timelines
Strong risk analysis and reporting skills
Ability to learn new technology and follow processes and procedures
Computer literacy and solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
High level communication and customer service skills
Disciplined, initiative and must have “can do” attitude
Prepared to travel at times and expected to work outside of normal hours and weekends when required
Excellent personal presentation and a positive outlook
Experience with livestock export industry will be highly regarded

Key responsibilities:

Monitor AUSTREX approved Supply Chain and ensure highest level of compliance to traceability and welfare standards
Undertake regular visits to approved facilities and provide accurate reports to Management in a timely manner
Liaise closely with AUSTREX Management based in Australia and other staff in Indonesia
Communicate regularly with customers and conduct training of importer employed AWOs and representatives
Support AUSTREX Indonesia supply chains traceability processing and reporting
Provide professional advice that is consistent with animal welfare best practice
Assist in shipment discharges
Provide support to local sales and operations staff
Aid in communication between in market AUSTREX employees and Indonesian stakeholders
