FSF is looking for a Forestry Manager who wants to build their experience in the agroforestry sector with a focus on landscape restoration. The successful candidate will be expected to live in Central Kalimantan with occasional domestic travel. This is a full time position.

  1. Undergraduates or Masters in Forestry or similar relevant major.
  2. Minimum 5 years experience in plantation/in forestry (For Masters) or 10 years experience
  3. (For Undergraduate). Agroforestry experience preferred.
  4. Competence with the following programs: MS Office, Google Suite, ArcGIS, R-Statistic.
  5. Advanced English Level, Native speaker Bahasa Indonesia.
  6. Willing to work in all project areas including new areas assigned by Fairventures
  7. Strong leadership and people management skills.
  8. Result-oriented and able to achieve efficient solutions with limited resources.
  9. Independent, organized and responsible to work in a fast-paced environment.
  10. Strong analytical ability to provide relevant insight with statistical support to the management.
  11. Can use a trail motorbike.

Job deskipsi :
  1. Forest Management Planning: Analyse and adapt existing Forest Management Plans and develop new Forest Management Plans for new areas, including silvicultural, spatial, and harvest planning.
  2. Standard Operational Procedure Design (SOPs): Analyse and adapt existing SOPs to optimize stand establishment, silvicultural maintenance, harvest, pest and disease control, and other operations.
  3. Key Performance Indicators Design: Determine Key Performance Indicators for the Operations team based on the Forest Management Planning and monitor whether or not these KPIs are being achieved.
  4. Monitoring & Analysis: Define a monitoring plan and supervise the collection and aggregation of silvicultural data including, operations progress, material usage, cost performance, inventory, carbon sequestration and others. Analyse collected data to provide insights and recommendations.
  5. Planning Compliance Control: Supervise the implementation process, based on data-based monitoring and ensure that all operations are running to plan on a routine basis.
  6. Quality Control: Conduct routine inspections of work in progress and ensure the SOPs are being followed.
  7. Knowledge Management: Act as a trusted advisor on Forestry for our Operations Manager and Operations teams. With a strong understanding of forest economics, ecology, vegetation and entomology; timber economics and biology.
  8. Certification Management: Plan: Supervise and implement the FSC and SVLK registration processes.
  9. Reporting: Work closely with Fairventures’ team in Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan, reporting directly to the Business Development Director and Supervisory Board.
