FSF is looking for a Business Development Officer who wants to build their experience in the agroforestry sector with a focus on landscape restoration. The successful candidate will be located in Central Java, but is expected to travel extensively around Indonesia. This is a full time position.

  1. Undergraduates or Masters in relevant field
  2. Minimum 5 years experience in relevant fields (For Masters) or 10 years experience (For Undergraduate)
  3. strong understanding of Indonesian forestry regulations
  4. Understanding timber and timber-end product trade and development
  5. Competence with the following programs: MS Office & Google Suite
  6. Native Speaker Bahasa Indonesia
  7. Advanced Speaker English preferred
  8. Good negotiation skills for Business to Business and Business to Government
  9. Independent, organized and responsible to work in a fast-paced environment
  10. Strong analytical ability in excel

Job deskipsi :

The Business Development Officer will report to the Timber Value Chain Manager (Indonesia) and their core duties will be including:


  1. Sourcing New Plantation Areas: Identify new areas suitable for agroforestry plantations and in-line with FSF’s vision and mission.
  2.  New Areas Assessment: Collect ecological, economic and social data on opportunities and create data-based assessments.
  3. Opportunity development: Support negotiations led by the Timber Value Chain Manager with potential partners, government stakeholder or concession holders to establish new business ventures.
  4. Value chain & Partnership development: Support the Timber Value Chain Officer to identify and develop new offtaking partnerships.
  5. Networking: Build a network with relevant public and private sector stakeholders to facilitate the development of FSF’s business.
  6. Market Research: Conduct market research and provide ongoing advice to the FSF business development team about product development and competitive positioning.
  7. Regulatory Knowledge: Have a strong understanding of regulations surrounding FSF business and provide proactive advice to internal stakeholders.
  8. Certification: Support the Timber Value Chain Officer to plan and implement FSC and SVLK certification processes.
